Tottenham s Moussa Sissoko has claimed he never considered leaving the club, despite struggling to make an impact during his first two seasons.

Sissoko joined Tottenham on deadline day in August 2016, having been on the verge of a move to Everton before Spurs secured his signing from Newcastle United for a reported £30million.

The midfielder initially failed to cement a place in Mauricio Pochettino s side and was often criticised by Tottenham s fans following the big-money move, but he has become a first-team regular this term.

Sissoko has revealed that, despite his struggles, he never considered pushing for a move away from Tottenham.

Verona have confirmed the permanent signing of Argentina Under-20 international Juan Manuel Iturbe from Porto.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at the Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi, and scored eight goals in 33 Serie A appearances.

A-League chief Damien de Bohun will quit his role at the helm at the end of the 2015-16 season due to family reasons.

De Bohun has been in the position since 2012, enduring a mixed time that has included marquee signings and club crises.

Football Federation Australia chief executive David Gallop praised De Bohun, the longest-serving head of A-League in the competition s history.

Damien brought incredible energy and dedication to the task, which spans a huge range of sporting, business and regulatory issues, he said.

Aston Villa have confirmed the capture of Aly Cissokho from Valencia on a four-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The club announced the news on their official Twitter page on Friday, with Cissokho securing a return to the Premier League after spending last season on loan at Liverpool.

Cissokho made 19 appearances in all competitions at Anfield, including 12 league starts as Brendan Rodgers men finished second.

That temporary deal came after one season at Valencia, where he made 25 La Liga appearances during 2012-13.

The former Porto and Lyon man has one France cap to his name, earned in a friendly against Norway in 2010, and arrives at Villa Park to help shore up a defence that shipped 61 league goals last season.
